Launched publicly in 2000 by our founder, veteran music executive Steve McKeever, and backed by a private circle of investors led by Michael Jordan (a partnership intentionally kept quiet for years to ensure the focus stayed on the music and the mission), Hidden Beach began and remains committed to embracing and elevating the best of the best talent.
The company emerged with a simple but radical idea in an era of rapid corporate consolidation: create a uniquely independent space where artistry comes first, musicianship is sacred, and creativity is never compromised.

From the moment we opened our doors, Hidden Beach became a trusted sanctuary for artists choosing the road less traveled, artists who wanted to be heard, nurtured, challenged, and supported. Over 25 years, that vision has shaped a catalog that helped define an era: from Jill Scott’s groundbreaking early albums, to Kindred the Family Soul, Darius Rucker’s debut solo project, BeBe Winans’ acclaimed I Have a Dream (featuring the words and voice of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.) and the beloved, now-classic My Christmas Prayer album, to the groundbreaking, genre-bending Unwrapped series, now a rich, one-of-a-kind catalog of the highest quality.
Hidden Beach also carried the honor of producing the first-ever soundtrack album for a presidential campaign (Yes We Can) and later the first official presidential inauguration album, Change Is Now.
But our legacy isn’t just our music. It is the leaders we have mentored (over 750 and counting…), the creators we have empowered, and the communities we have built. Hidden Beach stands for excellence, independence, authenticity, and cultural connection, values that remain our North Star.
